Dead Cats vs. the UnClan in CTF-Templar at High Noon CST
Posted by Toonces T. Cat on Friday, September 15th, 5:00 PM CDT

[DC] prepares to square off with the UnClan in CTF-Templar:

Tomorrow the Dead Cats will have their long awaited rematch with the UnClan. I'm sure none of you have forgotten the incredible games we played with them on CTF-Warrior and in CTF-November. The match tomorrow will consist of two games on CTF-Templar...one in normal gravity and the second one in low gravity. The sum of the scores from both games will determine the winning clan.

CTF-Templar is basically a flat map and the change in gravity should not have as profound an effect as it did in Warrior. CTF-Warrior is a map that is based almost entirely on vertical movement and tactics while CTF-Templar borders on being completely horizontal in nature.

[DC] Puma has sent out the team assignments in email. He has done his best to ensure that everyone gets in a full game. It is very likely, however, that several of the Dead Cats will have to play in both games. I'll have the .56 server running by 11:00am CST. All players, both the Dead Cats and the UnClan are welcome to practice 'til game time. As soon after Noon CST as everyone is in place and ready, I'll start the first game in the normal gravity mode. When the first game ends, I will immediately restart the server in low gravity. We will then take a 30 minute break. As soon after that 30 minute break as everyone is in place, we'll start the second game...Everyone please remember to make sure that your auto-taunt is set to off.

I look forward to seeing everyone in the game tomorrow...and oh yeah...Shoot everything that's not wearing a cat skin!

[DC] vs. {WYA} Scrimmage in CTF-AcidPipe][ Results
Posted by Toonces T. Cat on Thursday, September 14th, 5:00 PM CDT

Game Results for the [DC] vs. {WYA} match in CTF-AcidPipe][:

We had two really intense games with the {WYA} clan...The action was non-stop and everyone had a lot of fun playing the match. The first game was in normal gravity mode and [DC] had to pull out all the stops to keep from being totally overwhelmed. Our characters felt as if they had a 100lbs. of lead in their boots. The {WYA} players are highly skilled in the normal gravity mode and, speaking for myself, I was hanging on by my fingernails throughout most of the game...The bottom-line is that {WYA} took the first game.

The second game was played in low gravity and the Dead Cats were back in their element. {WYA} did not fold up under pressure. Instead they managed to put up one heck of a fight! By the half-way mark, even though [DC] was up by several points, {WYA} never gave up and actually intensified their level of play. I truly believe these were the most intense games we've played since our last inter-clan match on CTF-Warrior with the Army of Good and the UnClan Regulars.

When the fat lady finally sang [DC] had prevailed and the cumulative scores gave us the victory. Regardless of the end result, the {WYA} clan are a first-rate team and only need a bit more experience in low gravity. When they get it, y'all better watch out as I'm hoping they'll want a rematch.

Two New Maps and a New Dead Cat
Posted by Toonces T. Cat on Monday, September 11th, 4:00 PM CDT

CTF-Overt][:

CTF-Overt][ is very much like DM-Morpheus converted to a CTF map. This is a symmetrical map. The layouts of the Red and the Blue bases appear to be identical. The map is the exact same length as the range of the sniper rifle. The .unr file will push from the redirect server or you may download the zip file here:

CTF-Overt][

A zone by zone tour of the map may be viewed here:

CTF-Fort Caskin:

CTF-Fort Caskin
A Simple Two-Forts Design that's Perfect for Low Gravity

CTF-Fort Caskin is a medium sized map with both indoor and outdoor components. The map works extremely well in a low gravity environment. This is a symmetrical map and the Cat Bots play it to the very limit. Sometimes less is more and I really believe that the simplicity of this map makes for great game-play. The .unr file will push from the redirect server or you may download the zip file here:

A New Dead Cat:

We have yet another new member: [DC] Catfish, who also plays as {WYA} Punker.Be sure to give him the usual initiation greetings..

His detailed bio is available on the 3rd Members Page.

CTF-Cooling Fluid and CTF-Siberian Warfare

CTF-Cooling Fluid:

CTF-Cooling Fluid
A Capture the Flag Slime Fest...

CTF-Cooling Fluid is a very large indoor map. I did not experience any frame-rate problems with it during testing. Let me know if you have any when playing on it. This is not a symmetrical map. The layouts of the Red and the Blue bases are quite different. I do believe, however, that it is an extremely well balanced map as the flags appear to be equally difficult to defend or capture for both colors. CTF-Siberian Warfare:

CTF-Siberian Warfare
Close Combat Inside - Jump Matches Outside

CTF-Siberian Warfare is a medium sized map with both outdoor and indoor components. The map offers a variety of combat conditions and is definitely not boring. This is a symmetrical map and the Cat Bots play it like they were human!. I found it to be quite easy to pick up the enemy flag and just about impossible to get out alive with it. We all have Chronos to thank for turning up this little gem. The .unr file will push from the redirect server or you may download the zip file here:

The Rematch with the UnClan Regulars and the Army of Good:

The match is set for September 16th. It will be a High Noon shoot out on the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server. The UnClan and AoG folks have agreed to play with our standard mods including the Digital Extremes Exploding Ammo Mod. All of the relics, including the "Skull" will be turned off. Remember, it's two 60 minute games in CTF-Templar...one in low gravity and one in normal gravity. The total of the scores from both games will determine the winning side. The map is perfectly balanced, so color selection is irrelevant.

The match agreed upon is as follows:

1.) 2 games on the same map

2.) 1 in normal gravity and 1 in low gravity

3.) The total scores from both games will determine the winning team

4.) Teams of anywhere from 6 vs. 6 up to 12 vs. 12

5.) Each game will be 60 minutes in length with no flag capture limit. We will take a 15 to 30 minute break between the two games

I am going to move CTF-Templar and CTF-Acid Pipe to the Dead Kitty's Server at: 129.113.170.13 for the weekend...They will be running in the normal gravity mode and will rotate every 30 minutes with no flag limit. Having CTF-Acid Pipe up will allow us to practice for our scrimmage with {WYA} this coming Tuesday evening at 6:00PM CST

Three new Dead Cats:

Our ranks are continuing to expand. We have three new members: [DC] Chimera, Carlos Muriel, who use to play as Lord of the Sith; [DC] AT-TACK CAT, Brian Girouard, who's been playing as Tack-[MaRV], and finally there is [DC] Sloppy Jane, Danielle Lopez. SJ will be maintaining her membership in Bullet Time, but has decided to play for the Dark Side as she just couldn't resist that cuddly cat-girl suit she gets to wear now.

Their detailed bios are available on the "Members" pages...They are on the 2nd and 3rd pages of the Team Roster.
