Four New CTF Maps and an Old One Updated

4 new maps and an update:

Four New CTF Maps

TL: CTF-Naboo Generator, TR: CTF-Killing Time,
LL: CTF-Medusa's Maze, LR: CTF-Pull the Trigger Baby


There will be four new maps starting on the server tonight plus an update for one of the existing ones. The four new maps are CTF-Naboo Generator, CTF-Killing Time, CTF-Medusa's Maze, and CTF-Pull the Trigger Baby. CTF-Naboo Generator and CTF-Killing Time both large symmetrical maps that offer great play in low gravity. CTF-Medusa's Maze is a multi-level map that has a great look and some very unusual aspects to its layout. CTF-Pull the Trigger Baby is small, ultra-violent, and plays on four different levels.

The updated map is CTF-Outlook]|[. It has been generally cleaned up and the author has also added new underground routes between the bases.

There's a New Gurrrrrrl in Town

The Abbey-Tantala model and skin:

Meet Abbey ~ Tantala

Fluid motion and a very feminine look...


The original Abbey Model is the creation of Roger '666' Bacon and the Tantala Skin is the creation of Stuart Rumbel. Unfortunately, when used with the Abbey Model, the Tantala Skin was not compatible in a network game environment. So, Toonces and Puma have come to the rescue once again and made all of the needed modifications to allow the combination to be used on the Dead Cat servers. The Abbey-Tantala combination will be our first and only publicly available skin. The complete package with all of the instructions for installing it and using it are available for downloading on the Filez page. If you have already installed any other Abbey Models, I very strongly recommend that you remove them prior to installing this modified version.

As for Roger '666' Bacon and Stuart Rumbel many thanks for the incredibly cool stuff guys!.

Barkeep has returned to us with a vengeance...and I do mean a vengeance! Spurred on by the annoying and relentless auto-taunts of Pharaoh, aka The Llama King, aka Prodi-G, aka The Killer Priest, BK proceeded to go on an insane rampage on the new map CTF-Shaft, along with several others, splattering everything that had the misfortune to cross his path.

The Cave d00d Skin and a New Map from Hobi-Wan

Incredible detail and a very life-like look...


[DC] Jagroar has finished the skin for the OMG Clan and it is a real stunner!. The picture above, except for the Minigun flash, is an actual in-game shot. There were no alterations or tweaking done in Photoshop. The Cave d00d skin just really looks that good in the game. It is a full "Four-Color" skin package that is suitable for all variations of Unreal Tournament. I will send the hidden URL for downloading the skin to everyone in email later today.


A new offering from Hobi-Wan ~ CTF-Shaft:

Meet CTF-Shaft, another Hobi-Wan creation that will definitely test your skills and your team-play. The map is huge...just as we like'em. It is ideal for Low Gravity and is also a sniper's dream with six sniper's nests covering the center area of the map. It's a wonderful mix of many of the best elements of CTF-Acid Pipe, with it's treacherous central area, and CTF-Boom Boom Bridge][, with it's enormous bases and over-all size.

Match Results and a Pictorial for [DC] vs. [CTCR]

[DC] vs. [CTCR] ~ The results are in:

Absolutely the best clan match yet!


The Dead Cats squared off with the Clowns That Carry Redeemers on the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server last night for a two game match. The first game went to [CTCR] with a score of 5-2 on CTF-Bedrooms][a. [DC] took the second game with a final score of 29-0. In all fairness, the scores alone do not tell the whole story. Even though the first game finished at 5-2, we were pretty thoroughly thrashed on the map. The [CTCR] players really knew how to take full advantage of the Matrix Moves Mod along with the Strangelove Mutator. They were using the Redeemers tactically to divide the rooms and allow their flag carriers to get clear with most of their health points in tact. I can honestly say that I learned a thing or two just watching the game.

The Dead Cats took the game on CTF-Acid Pipe, but [CTCR] put up one one heck of a fight and never gave up even when they were trailing by a wide margin. They truly demonstrated what sportsmanship and perseverance are all about. Low Gravity and the DE Volatile Ammo Mod are difficult to handle even when you play with them everyday. [CTCR] adapted very quickly to the conditions and I hope they'll practice some Low-G and play us again sometime.
