Two Terrific New CTF Maps Tonight on Stuffed Cats Inc.

CTF-Champ de Bataille and CTF-EnXtos:

CTF-Champ de Bataille

A highly polished rewrite of CTF-Battle Zone...

CTF-Champ de Bataille, by the admission of the author, is a blatant rip-off of CTF-Battle Zone...and it is also everything that Battle Zone is not. It is elegant. It is precisely constructed. The lighting is absolute perfection and the detail work is incredible. All of this in a map that will keep even mediocre machines in the frame-rate happy-zone!

I'm predicting that this gem will become a standard map for many competitive CTF Matches.

CTF-Champ de Bataille will run on the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server starting tonight.

You won't be bouncing off the ceilings in EnXtos...

CTF-EnXtos, just like CTF-Champ de Bataille, is another map written with perfect pitch. The flow is natural and works with, and not against, the player. Offensive and defensive strengths and weaknesses are perfectly balanced. Flag runners and flag defenders will both be equally pleased with this map.

There are a few sections of hallway that do not lend themselves to a jump match. The vast majority of EnXtos, however, has vaulted or open ceilings that are made to order for low gravity games.

CTF-EnXtos will also be starting its run on the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server tonight.

Stuffed Cats Inc. Moves to a New IP and CTF-Darkness Pass

The "Great One" makes a move:

The Stuffed Cats Inc. Server
Moves to a Brand New IP:

The IP address for the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server is now just a memory. Today, the main [DC] game server was moved to the ATM...Asynchronous Transfer Mode...subnet and is running on a 155Mbps OC-3 link to the core switch in our network. This should mean much improved pings for most players and a sharp drop in packet loss for everyone that's had a problem in the past.

The history of the Stuffed Cats machine at the address is a long and interesting one. I've created a composite web page from the final numbers that were available on the ngWorldStats website. This page is for every player that contributed to these numbers to enjoy. We were only a few thousand minutes short of reaching the one million mark. I almost let it run run just to pass that number when it came to me that it's not the number of minutes, but the quality of the time we've spent together. So, at around 980,000 player minutes, the time is what it is. Be sure to check out the numbers for telefragging and teleports. I'm sure these figures are unrivaled by any other server...I mean we do like our teleporters!

CTF-Darkness Pass is moody and disturbing:

CTF-Darkness Pass

This map creates a mood similar to Aliens vs. Predator...

CTF-Darkness Pass is a terrific new map that seems to have been written for the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server. The outside areas are dark and foreboding and create a mood that is almost as grim as the game Aliens vs. Predator. It plays extremely well with as few as 8 players and it's even better with 16 or more on the map. The level of detail is extraordinary in every respect. The lighting is perfect as it flows from zone to zone uninterrupted by any abrupt changes.

This is going to be a great map for sniping in the darkness as well as gunfights in the huge open area. Just watch out for those edges...and above all, it is going to be an outstanding team-play map. Freelancers will have a blast on this thing, but scoring is not going to be easy for the player that likes to work alone.

CTF-Darkness Pass will debut on the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server tomorrow night!
