Two New CTF Maps Tonight on the Stuffed Cats Server

Two New Space-Based Levels:

Two new CTF levels will debut on the Stuffed Cats Inc. Server tonight. CTF-Antipody is a medium sized map with multiple teleporters that, if left undefended, could result in some very short games. This looks like a great venue for 8 or more players.

CTF-Orphobeus is, more or less, a giant-sized CTF version of DM-Morpheous. There have been numerous attempts to make a decent CTF level out of Morpheous, but until now they've all been failures when it came to actually playing on them. If we are currently running anything that is akin to this map, it would be CTF-Sky Rush.

Both maps may be downloaded on the Filez Page...

The Dead Cats vs. Bullet Time and the [HOB] Clans

A Monster of a Match!:

The latest [DC] vs. BT + [HOB] match is now history and, in my not so humble opinion, it's the greatest two hours of Unreal Tournament I've ever had the privilege to watch! Both teams were in superb form and played outstanding games on both maps...CTF-Laputa and CTF-A Dam Too Far. The competition was fierce in every respect. No quarter was given by either team for two solid hours of very, very hard game-play.

I have prepared a very large web-page spread that includes over 130 completely different screenshots from both of the games. There are a total of 9 pages of pictures with 15 screenshots per page. As I have explained in the past, I do my utmost to give everyone the best possible coverage I can in these spreads. Despite these efforts, some players will get more coverage than others. Capturing the shots and putting together the spread is about 50% skill and another 50% pure-dumb-luck. I do apologize in advance if someone feels they did not receive adequate coverage. I also do my best to get everyone's names and identities correct in the captions. If I have made any mistakes, and you find them, please let me know as they are quite easily corrected. As for the 2nd game on A Dam Too Far, if you are listed as "Another Zoob" or "Some Zoob" or just plain "Zoob" then you will have to live with it as there was no way I could accurately tell who was who among the Bullet Time players.

I have also created a "Stats Page" and an "Index page" both of which are available at any point in the spread by going to the bottom of any page. There you will find a link for the "Next Page" and for the "Index Page" which will, in turn, quickly get you to the "Stats Page." To begin viewing the pictures, follow the links starting below.

And the Skins Just Keep On Comin' - Meet The Iron Kitty

The Dead Cats get a Boss skin:

The Iron Kitty

Front and back shots of the Iron Kitty in CTF-Hi Guys!

The Iron Kitty skin is a major reworking of Digisaur's Brass Boss. Digisaur, aka Thomas Miller, has been gracious enough to grant permission for our use of the base design. The non-colored portions of the skin have been rendered and texturized to appear like the surface of steel bar stock. The skin comes in all four game colors. To see the all of the views and color variations of the Iron Kitty skin, follow the links below.

Scratch Creates a Dead Cat Alpha Male Skin

DC Alpha Male on the Commando Model:

The DC Alpha Male

The Dead Cat Alpha Male skin is built on Epic's standard Male Commando Model. [DC] Scratch has really gone the extra mile here with the amount of detail in the body textures. The very fine parallel lines create an illusion of motion on the skin's surface when the model moves in the game. This gives the skin the appearance of being animated. Very C00L work Scratch! The skin pack comes with all four colors and has three distinct faces: Caretaker][ (shown above), Eyes, and MushroomHead.

New Server Rulez and Meet the HOBot
Posted by Toonces T. Cat on Monday, May 20, 2002 5:30 PM CDT

New Server Rulez:

These are not actually new rules, but now they are in writing and will be enforced:

1.) Keep it clean...There are kids on the server. Everyone cuts loose once in a while, but don't make it a habit or get excessively foul.

2.) Be respectful at all times and DO NOT MAKE IT PERSONAL....EVER! A little bit of smack talk goes a long way. Keep it light and say it in good humor.

3.) No auto-taunts...Turned those darned things off now!

4.) Team switching:

a.) This is a good thing if you're doing it to get a better team balance and make the game fairer for everyone. In fact it is encouraged when it is done for those reasons.

b.) This is a very bad thing when it's done just to be on the winning side or to change so you can kill someone you dislike. In fact, it is so bad that if I catch you doing it, I will kick you the first time and repeat offenders will be banned from the server.

c.) UT's team balancing sucks! This is just a fact. Even if it is 8 vs. 2, if the team that has 2 is ahead you will not be able to join it...There is no way to fix this. Please stop asking me to fix it.

5.) Camping is a part of the game. If you do not like campers, stop complaining about it and go kill a few of them.

6.) Toonces' critter maps suck...Learn to live with it. He loves his critters.

...more to come later I am sure...:-)

Meet the HOBot:

The HOBot Skin

The HOBot skin is a minor rework of the Brass Boss by Digisaur. It is one of the most detailed skins ever made for Unreal Tournament. The minor modifications consist of the letters HOB added across the chest in the appropriate colors, the replacement of the lightning bolt design on the back-pack with the HOB logo, and the addition of Puma Cool eyes behind the visor.
